My name is Anna Barrera, and I'm a photographer based in the greatest city in America (I say with major bias), Huntsville, AL! My photography journey began in 2018. I picked up a camera for the first time because my best friends and I were taking a trip to Ireland (sláinte, ladies!) and I wanted to be able to capture photos with more depth and detail.

Not knowing where to begin, I joined a photography small group at my church. I showed up to our first meeting with a mini Polaroid camera because that's all I had, ha! After just 2 meetings, I caught the photography bug and ordered a starter camera. For the next three months, my Sunday afternoons were spent walking around downtown Huntsville with my closest friends, learning how to adjust settings, pose people in front of a camera... and, most importantly, just have fun with it!

I made a big move to San Antonio, TX in July of 2020. Photography became the outlet God used to help push me out of my comfort zone a bit. I learned to explore places solo, while connecting with new folks along the way. I also connected with a mentor who invested so much time and energy into, not only my photography journey, but my life as whole (check out Wayfarer Photography when you have a chance!). Photography has blessed me, time and time again, with the most special friendships.

In 2021, this led to connecting with a non-profit, Nyayo, and launching a full-on photography campaign, which got my little photography business off the ground. I'm looking forward to partnering with them again in new ways. I'll be sharing more about this soon!

Most recently, I've made the move back to Sweet Home Alabama. After a bit of time off from Photography to get settled into my full time job (I work as a speech pathologist during the work week!) and to spend time reconnecting with family and friends, I am looking forward to taking this business back to the place where it all began for me. Huntsville holds such a special place in my heart and it is such a joy to be connecting with the people here that make it so special!

God has blessed my world exponentially through the art of photography. The people I have met, the stories that have inspired me, and the places I have gotten to explore in the name of photography have become some of my favorite life memories. I consider this adventure a gift from God and I offer all the glory to Him through it.

That's all for now!
